Wellness week 2021

Wellness Week 2021 : 15 – 21 August

This year, WRaP EM will celebrate Wellness Week in collaboration with the Australasian College of Emergency Medicine (ACEM). For Wellness Week 2021, WRaP EM and ACEM aim to focus on Connection and Belonging in our workplaces.

The function of the week is to trigger a collaborative conversation about building a culture of connection and belonging; a culture that allows ED staff to be authentic and to express vulnerability – safely.

Developing and maintaining meaningful connections in our busy healthcare settings has always been challenging. Yet it is these relationships and connections that get us through the darkest days. Ironically it is precisely during this Time of Pandemic, when we need these connections the most, that COVID has significantly challenged our ability to maintain them both with our colleagues and our patients.

A large body of evidence shows that meaningful connections and a sense of belonging positively impact our performance, resilience and therefore patient care. Thus, it is imperative that we endeavour to nurture these relationships at work1.

As we approach Wellness Week this August, WRaP EM will share with you the clinician perspective on this topic. We will provide practical tips on how to create meaningful connections in-spite of the challenges posed by COVID.

We have an exciting and evolving plan to launch the “WRaP EM Coach and connect” for Wellness Week 2021. This will offer a ‘face to face’ (if plausible) or virtual connection opportunity with one of the WRaPEM crew for anyone who works in healthcare to discuss, explore and optimise their department’s wellness strategies or plans for wellness week and beyond. click here for more details.
