Dr. Kathryn Clark (FACEM/PEM – BHB/MBCHb, BAMus, BScKin Hon) (she/her), is the paediatric emergency medicine clinical lead at North Shore and Waitakere Hospitals, in Auckland, Aotearoa New Zealand.
This Canadian ex-pat, mom was immersed in music from the moment she arrived into her music-loving family in Nova Scotia. In concert with her love of music was a love of science. She considered medicine when first applying to university, but ultimately went to Dalhousie University for a degree in Voice Performance. Through her uni years, she sang in bands, at nightclubs, choirs, productions, weddings and funerals, ice hockey games, and even for the Pope! Vocal ulcerations forced a hiatus from singing in her final year of university, so she took up fitness/triathlon and went right back to school, earning a BSc in sports science. On a soul-searching adventure in 2001, she visited Aotearoa and immediately fell in love with the beautiful country and it’s soulful musical culture. She applied to medical school there and has never looked back.
